2:02 AM MONDAY

Gemz is turning 2 in a few days it's around 2 am and i'm working on the website. As a founder you suddenly become the one Person that needs to do everything, including writing blog posts. I heard it's good for the SEO and honestly, why not. We're such a young brand let's just go all in!

I feel like these blog posts will be like a diary for me... Btw i'm Kiala the founder of GEMZ.

Gemz turns two but actually it's more like 7/8 years that i created the first hair pieces (i shot them on my little sister she probably was like 12 back then (so cute - will use that one as foto for this post))

I was always so shy to put them out there. What materials should they be made of? What pricing? Will anyone like them? How do i put all those ideas and thougts into one clear vision?

I was lucky i had some friends that made me believe in this project even more than myself at times. They became an essential part of Gemz - Fily and Bayi.

Fily is an amazing hairstylist - specialist in braided hairstyles and locs and also co-founded ROOTS BERLIN a non-profit organisation that brings the community together through creativity, movement and sharing knowledge.

And Bayi - she's a woman of many talents and helped to curate the launch event was always there to bounce ideas back and forth and took over the social media in the beginning. She also did some mixtapes - which she doesn't anymore.. i guess i should ask what happened there! (another todo on my endless list)

These two helped me to build the foundation of what is there today. I am so thankful.

Moving forward Catarina joined the team as an intern for social media and marketing and just stayed :) All i could wish for honestly, this woman she's Virgo rising and Capricorn moon and i really needed that (still need it)

So here we are Fily our consultant for everything hair... Bayi our vibe curator and Catarina just organising the mess in my brain and converting it into content.

I think this is good for tonight i'm actually getting tired and i wanna leave some more fun things to tell for the next post.
