I guess I like writing in the nighttime, everyone's asleep no phone is ringing no messages or emails. I love it. It's also one of my most creative hours, when i'm in the studio at night it feels like time doesn't exist. Probably one of my favourite moments in life - winning power over time...

I also have to say tho that it has been quite a while since i have been really sitting and just freely creating, the romantic idea of owning a brand (or two) is sometimes not so romantic at all. And i am always really in awe of people that manage to balance the creativity part and the "office" part well. I constantly feel like there's something else that needs to be done (and there always is actually) that i forget to prioritze what i love most - creating. It's weird sometimes how turning the thing that you love into a business can also mean that you won't actually get to spend so much time with exactly that thing.
The framework that has to be done for a product to find it's buyer is so much! And don't get me wrong i also like that it's fun, honestly! But i miss these times where creation was just for creation itself, and did not include all the rest. I feel like the most honest pieces are born in these moments when you just do.
2 more weeks of birthday month. 13.5.24 my grandmothers birthday (like that i won't forget it - and also won't forget her birthday...so smart), i feel like in some way it's her fault that i fell in love with jewelry, she has these wonderful jewelry boxes with a lot of little treasures she collected over time. Some are gifts, others are made by friends, and some she bought for herself. But every single one of them has a story and she used to tell me all of them when i was a kid. The other day when i went to visit her we went through it again and i remembered so many! I really feel like she deserved to be honoured so i decided to launch on her birthday.

I am looking forward to this year. We just relocated to Accra and have the first concept store that is stocking our pieces, Mansa gold. We have had our pieces on some of the local artists and are slowly spreading the word about what we are doing. I'm starting all over again for the thrid time in my life. And it feels right! 3 is a good number i guess.
I am so in awe of all the craftsmen and women here and can't wait to explore and translate this into hair jewelry. I found this amazing workshop that does recycled glass beads and i can't wait to recieve my first samples! Red Black Green... i felt like these were quite powerful colours - The pan african flag. I'm tired now... but will talk more about this soon!
